"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men." -Colossians 3:23
As much as I gripe about my job, let me be clear that I am incredibly grateful to have one. No workplace is perfect, an I accept that. No, I am not in my dream career right now. Yes, I am changing diapers & wiping snotty noses for the time being. But that's just it. For the time being. I am not going to be there forever. I am confident in my abilities & talents and I know that one day I will be using them in an awesome and great way. These past few months I have really been comparing myself to other people. I've been sizing up other's accomplishments and weighing them against my own. Often times, I would fall short in this pretend game I had made up in my mind. But here's the deal, comparison is indeed the thief of joy. Where is comparing myself to other's going to get me in life? Nowhere. I am right where God wants me to be in my life right now. I am sure of it. I know He has great plans for me and my life. And I refuse to think for one more second that He doesn't know what He's doing.
