Show & Tell
"Your show & tell HAS to be able to fit in your book bag in order for you to bring it to school." If I had penny for every time I have told both the child AND the parent that, I'd be vacationing in London right now. Look who showed up on Friday morning.
Clearly, he's bigger than a book bag. However, I preferred life size Elmo over the container of worms that another student brought. Ohhh, three year olds.

Long overdue.
Woooow. It's been so long that I've written a post on here that the whole Blogger site has changed. Far too long, huh? Just when I thought everything had calmed down, life smacked me in the face and things got crazy. Keshaunia's bridal shower came & went and it was so much fun. With the help of Millie & Jen everything went so smoothly. Keshaunia left "showered" and full from all of the tasty food! All in all it was a success. In the process, the girls and I concocted a new tasty treat that may become an Ackerman tradition. I realize this is a terrible picture, but I forgot to take pictures of them until the last goody bag was about to be devoured.
So, they're Oreos dipped in vanilla & sprinkled with well..sprinkles. The theme for the shower was EVERYTHING PURPLE. So, I got the vanilla chips in purple & melted the vanilla down until it was creamy. Then, I dipped the Oreos in the vanilla, sprinkled them and let them dry until the vanilla had hardened. SO delicious and very easy to make. Jen has already requested some for Devin's 3rd Birthday Party. (sidenote: I can't believe Bean will be THREE! Where does the time go?!) Planning everything for the shower was a bit stressful but mostly nerve-wracking. I just wanted Keshaunia to have a good time & enjoy the party. She is such a beautiful person inside & out and she deserves so much. She and her fiancee, Wade, are such a rarity among couples. They are both so humble and genuine. They are a breath of fresh air, those two! :)
The shower took place over the course of my 5 day weekend. I didn't get a full week off for Spring Break, instead I had a Friday & a Monday off. I was so grateful to have those days, let me tell ya! I spent some quality time with Chris and slept in till 8! What a glorious feeling that was...
And then this little man showed up...
Meet Devin, my precious 2 year old nephew. He likes all things Veggietales, cars, and trains. He's a huge fan of PopTarts and chicken nuggets and loves splashing during bathtime. My sister & her hubby went on a well-deserved cruise to Mexico and they entrusted us with their precious cargo for a week. Let me tell you, we had so much fun with Devin. This boy is so smart and hilaaarious! I enjoyed getting a little taste of Mommyhood, and I can't wait to start that chapter in my life. (No, I'm not pregnant.) But, being a Mom is truly one of my biggest dreams. A dream that has to wait a few more years...but that hasn't stopped me from designing a future nursery. :)
TOO CUTE.
He slept with that picture. :)
Devin's favorite animal at the Zoo. That tiger got sooo close.
Hence, the killer shades.
